About the Interviewee*
Rose Shomali (Palestine) was General Director of Women’s Affairs Technical Committee (WATC). She pioneered a literacy program initiative implemented in numerous Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, Director of Educational Program for UNICEF, in the West Bank and Gaza, 1998-2002, Lecturer, Faculty of Arts, 1995-1998, University of Bethlehem, Palestine. Shomali is a published researcher in economics, education, Journal of Palestinian Affairs and a book on women's political participation and decision-making. She is published poet, with five anthologies.
