Women’s Learning Partnership (WLP) strengthens feminist movements by connecting women-led organizations across the Global South to learn, act, and lead together.
Our model is built on long-term, trust-based collaboration. Each organization leads its own work, rooted in its community and political context, while contributing to shared learning and collective action across regions. This approach allows locally grounded leadership to shape regional and global change, something no single organization could achieve alone.
How Our Partnership Works
Local Leadership
Women-led organizations lead change in their communities.
Collective Learning
Strategies, curricula, and lessons are shared across regions.
Aligned Action
Organizations collaborate through advocacy and campaigns.
Systemic Engagement
Laws, norms, institutions, and power structures are challenged and shifted.
Resilient Feminist Movements
Leadership and progress endure across crises and generations.
Local leadership comes first
Women closest to the challenges shape priorities, strategies, and solutions. Each organization remains fully independent and accountable to its community.
Shared learning strengthens movements
Strategies, curricula, and lessons developed in one place become shared resources across regions, strengthening quality, relevance, and reach.
WLP convenes women-led organizations across regions and generations to build shared analysis, align strategy, and sustain feminist leadership over time. These convenings are not one-off events, but a core part of WLP’s movement infrastructure, supporting collective decision-making, cross-border learning, and coordinated action, especially in moments of crisis and political backlash.
Aligned action multiplies impact
When organizations align strategy and act together, they influence laws, norms, and institutions at scale, turning local wins into systemic change.
Solidarity builds resilience
In moments of backlash, crisis, or shrinking civic space, organizations are not isolated. They respond together with shared analysis, visibility, and care.
Long-term relationships sustain progress
By investing in durable relationships rather than short-term interventions, WLP helps feminist leadership and organizations endure across political cycles and generations.
Secretariat’s Role
WLP serves as a connective platform that helps feminist movements work together effectively by:
- Supporting shared learning and feminist curricula
- Coordinating cross-border advocacy and convenings
- Strengthening organizational resilience and leadership pipelines
- Facilitating collective fundraising, learning, and accountability
The result is a living feminist ecosystem that is locally led, globally connected, and sustainable.
