Summary

Eye on Democracy (part one of two) is a panel discussion/program on the US-based Arabic-language news network Alhurra. This episode features Yakin Erturk (Council of Europe), Women's Learning Partnership board member, Wajeeah al-Baharna (Vice President of WLP Bahrain/Bahrain Women's Association (BWA)), and Farida al-Naqash (writer and Egyptian politician), who discuss developments for women's rights in the Arab world since the popular uprisings of 2011. They also discuss cooperation between women's rights advocates from the Arab world and western nations, and the concept of Islamic governance.
