Mahnaz Afkhami, founder of Women's Learning Partnership (WLP), talks about the events surrounding the fall of the government of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi in 1979, and what it meant for her position as the Minister of Women's Affairs in Iran, and for the women's rights movement in Iran. She also discusses the prospects for women's rights in Iraq (the new Iraqi constitution was being drafted for referendum at that time).
