Yakin Ertürk

Ertürk (Turkey) is a retired professor of sociology and holder of a number of international human rights mandates, including UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences. 

WLP, the Collective for Research & Training on Development - Action, and Lebanese American University will host the Beirut book launch of Violence without Borders: Paradigm, Policy and Praxis Concerning Violence Against Women on December 15, 2016. The launch features author Yakın Ertürk, a keynote address by the Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon, and moderator, Asma Khader.

Ertürk, formerly Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, is a WLP board member. A keynote address will be given by the Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon, and a discussion will be moderated by Asma Khader, President of Sisterhood is Global Institute-Jordan (SIGI/J), and Lina Abou-Habib, Executive Director of WLP.

WLP published the English translation Violence without Borders as the third book in WLP's Translation Series.
