Lifelines: The Poetry of Human Rights, 2017 features readings by leading women poets. Since 2003, WLP’s Lifelines series has linked poetry and prose to the struggle of realizing women’s human rights. Abena Busia welcomes the audience. Mahnaz Afkhami introduces the WLP organization and its mission. WLP works with twenty partner organizations in countries across the globe to support participatory leadership and to change the architecture of human relationships. There is also an introduction to the WLP Lifelines event series, which presents poetry and literature focusing on women's human rights.
