Summary

The United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2250 on youth peace and security on December 9 2015.

The resolution calls upon Member States to enhance the participation of youth in decision-making processes at the local, national, regional and international levels. It also urged Member States to establish effective mechanisms that facilitate the meaningful engagement of young individuals in peace-building endeavors.
