The United Nations Security Council adopted resolution 2493 on women, peace and security on October 29, 2019. The resolution calls for the full implementation of all previous resolutions on women, peace and security and requests the UN to develop context-specific approaches for women's participation in all UN-supported peace processes. Additionally, the resolution urgest Member States to ensure and provide timely support for the full, equal, and meaningful participation of women in all stages of peace processes.
