The Transitional Constitution of Palestine also known as Palestine Basic Law was ratified by the Palestinian Legislative Council upon its election in 2003 for the interim phase until the unification of the Palestinian homeland. The Basic Law is based on the premise that the Palestine Liberation Organization is the sole and legitimate representative of the Arab Palestinian people.
